If you haven’t seen this, you are in for a treat!! “Fur Graffitti” artists are taking secondhand furs and turning them BACK INTO ANIMALS!! Keep in mind that these furs were already made into fur coats and worn…we don’t want to get into a fur debate here, it’s just a cool use of an item that was headed to the landfill.
This is a great way to start off the weekend. [Thanks to Kerri Meehan for the heads up on this one.]
All right, you Salvagists out there…this one’s a biggie! I want to share a video with you that helps people to understand WHY we should be recycling and WHY making simple changes such as using reusable shopping bags can make such a difference. Seriously, share this with everyone you know. This isn’t about me plugging Salvagist merchandise, it’s just a little part of the reason that I do what I do.
People magazine captured this picture of AnnaLynn McCord sportin’ this sizzlin’ red and black hobo and demand went through the roof!
As if the sheer style isn’t enough, Salvagists love the bag because it is actually made of red leather and recycled (in this case “upcycled”) tractor tire inner tubes! Seriously? Seriously. (That was our little shout out to any Grey’s Anatomy fans out there.)
It is with joy in my heart that I announce the launch of the ALL NEW Salvagist website….new look, new products, new blog, new twitter account….it’s crazy, folks! I’ll spare you the play-by-play of events that brought us to this victorious moment in time. Let’s just leave it at the fact that more than one tear was shed. (I lost two weeks of work in one keystroke the other day. It was not pretty.)
At any rate, it’s here, and we can’t believe it! I invite you to take a look around and let us know if your favorite product/line is missing.
Well, this week marks a mile post in Salvagist’s short but sweet history. We are revealing Salvagist 2.0 to the world! There’s a new look, new ways to connect, new products and, now, a new blog! (As evidenced by these very words!)
With the Salvagist blog, we hope to explore the world of stylish products that have a green slant. You know, really examine this “Style with a Social Conscience” movement. If you find products and or ideas that fit into this category, feel free to pass them along. This is a group effort, people!
Thank you for taking the time to hang with us a bit. I hope that we won’t disappoint…
